Partnership with Sacred Heart Province, Canada

The Missionary zeal and enthusiasm of the Province was enhanced, when Friars Manual and Joseph D’Cruz embarked on the journey on 15th Sep 2004, in a move to the Sacred Heart Province of Eastern Canada as part of the contract with our Province to supply personnel to the Sacred Heart Province. It was further strengthened when Brs. Pierre Viau and Jean-Guy, the Provincial and Vicar Provincial, respectively, of the Sacred Heart Province of Eastern Canada, visited our Province and officially signed the contract with our Province regarding the supplying personnel to their Province, at St. Antony’s Friary, Kollam on  25th Jan. 2005.

In 2008 Br Louise Antony addressed the Chapter on behalf of all the Indian brothers and Br Manuel was elected as definitor. A committee was appointed to oversee the partnership under the leadership of Br France Salesse. In 2009,at the   request of Provincial Brs Robinson Melkis and Peter Thomas were invited to study in Toronto. In 2011 Br Benny was elected as definitor. At present Bros. Mauel, Jossy Mullassery, Antony Louiz, Benny, shibu Cyprian and Saji are rendering their service to the Sacred heart Province, Canada. In 2013 Br. Benny has become the Vicar Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province of Canada.
